Proudly Supporting the ICN Global Nursing Leadership Institute
November 5, 2024 (Geneva, Switzerland) - The 2024/25 cohort of ICN's flagship Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI) met in person in Geneva last week as part of their year-long transformational leadership program. In total, 31 nurse scholars from 28 countries participated.
A grant from the Health Carousel Foundation helped ensure that GNLI scholars represent countries with diverse healthcare systems and economic development ranges.
Many notable speakers graced the week-long event, including the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who praised the longstanding partnership and decades of collaboration between WHO and ICN.
On completion of the GNLI program next summer, this cohort's scholars will have greater knowledge and broader skills to help them influence government policies, work better with stakeholders outside the nursing profession, and have improved skills in strategic communication with political messages aimed at politicians, decision-makers and the general public.

Enabling a wide swath of the world's rising nurse leaders to participate is necessary for all voices to be heard and helps shape representative nursing standards and healthcare policies of the future."
