Health Carousel Philippines Nurse Education and Inspiration Tour a Huge Success
For one week in mid-October of 2022, Earl Dalton, Chief Nurse Officer, and leaders from Health Carousel Philippines toured and lectured at nursing schools and hospitals throughout the Philippines. The topics on hand did not include U.S. career opportunities; instead, Earl shared wisdom as a nurse leader on career development, self-care, and resiliency. Health Carousel and Health Carousel Philippines also presented nursing scholarships and a DAISY Award for exceptional nursing while on the trip. Health Carousel's Light the Way initiative supported all activities on the Nurse Education and Inspiration Tour, which promotes global sustainability, professional development, and ethical recruitment of nurses globally.
Earl reached students and practicing nurses not just in Manila but in the provinces, too. The tour made stops in Ortigas Center, Caloocan, Quezon City, Puerto Prinsesa, and Angeles City. In total, more than 500 working nurses and students benefitted from career development and resiliency training. Additionally, two nurse educators were recipients of fully-funded Light the Way Faculty Development Scholarships and one DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses ceremony honored a nurse's compassionate patient care.
