April 6, 24 (Cleveland, OH) - The Health Carousel Foundation and Health Carousel, LLC were proud to attend the global premiere of "American Delivery" at the Mimi Ohio Theater during the 48th annual Cleveland International Film Festival. The film, directed by Carolyn Jones, shares the powerful stories of nurses, primarily in Cleveland and Dayton, Ohio, who strive to correct the disturbing fact that the United States has one of the worst infant mortality rates in the developed world - especially among women of color.

"While the Health Carousel Foundation has primarily invested in nurse development and sustainability abroad, this film highlights the need to improve healthcare outcomes at home as well," stated Andrew Lingo, the Foundation's executive director. "This film inspired the Foundation to look closely at what we can do to support our local and national healthcare workers and systems."

Case Western Reserve University's Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing played a crucial role in the project. Several alumni and Joyce Fitzpatrick, the Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing, acted as advisors to the film, sharing their decades of experience guiding nurses to be catalysts for change. The Health Carousel Foundation has close ties to the Case Western nursing programs through grants to their Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive Fellowship.
