Appalachian Children Coalition
For children residing in any Appalachian Ohio county, access to physical, mental, and behavioral health care treatment is limited. The Appalachian Children Coalition is currently coordinating and overseeing the building of 32 school-based health centers in Appalachian Ohio. ACC will create a comprehensive primary care clinic via a partnership between Belpre City Schools and Nationwide Children’s Hospital serving students and children in the community aged 0-22.
Bless a Child Foundation
Bless a Child Foundation will establish a dedicated Care Home specifically for adolescents undergoing cancer treatment.
Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati
To address the needs of current youth and set the stage for the future, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati has launched A New Generation, a campaign to complete essential building renovation and construction projects, significantly expand and strengthen programs to serve youth more effectively, and ensure the organization is properly positioned to respond to new opportunities and future growth. That campaign includes investments in the Youth Workforce Development Center, which will provide a robust curriculum designed to engage teens with all career paths, teach financial responsibility, provide mentorship, assist with driver’s education, and promote overall job readiness.
Brighton Center
Bridges to Healthcare Careers is Brighton Center’s comprehensive workforce development continuum. These include, but are not limited to, Medical Assisting and Health Technologies Administration. Bridges to Healthcare is a pre- apprenticeship program in the continuum offering an onramp to healthcare careers.
Catholic Charities of Southwest Ohio
Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio serves and empowers people through God’s love in their times of vulnerability. These projects include full range of local services that engage the community in building solidarity including the Su Casa Hispanic Center, Refugee Resettlement Program, and Immigration Legal Services.
Cincinnati Children’s Firearm Injury Taskforce
Cincinnati Children’s has developed a new virtual reality training module to prepare care providers for firearm-related point of care screening, counseling, and support. Cincinnati Children’s is requesting support and partnership to spread training more rapidly to care providers throughout the community and to amplify local firearm injury prevention efforts.
Cincinnati Compass
Cincinnati Compass will support a pilot program to fund three projects in the area of mental health: community-drive responses to address mental health in their respective communities.
Cincinnati Works
Cincinnati Works has developed the Healthcare Next Generation Workforce program which combines their highly successful coaching, soft-skills training, and financial wellness program with technical skills trainings and apprenticeships provided by their healthcare employer partners, including TriHealth, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Christ Hospital, and Hoxworth Blood Center. The Next Generation will help the participants begin a career path that will provide them with long-term financial stability and support along that path.
GAIA Global Health
GAIA partners with a leading nursing school to provide wrap-around one year scholarships to diploma-level nurse/midwives pursuing advanced specialization in priority health areas. Through paid fellowships, GAIA provides salary support to newly graduated nurses who have secured internships before obtaining full-time employment.
Global Refuge
The Global Refuge Microenterprise Development Program offers financial literacy training, small business support, and small business loans up to $15,000 to refugees, immigrants, and asylees in Northern Virginia extending through the Baltimore metro area, who want to start a small business or expand an existing small business.
Golden Door Scholars
Golden Door Scholars provides DACAmented and undocumented students with the financial aid and support needed to invest in their education and define their futures.
Health Collaborative - Cardiovascular Learning Collaborative
The Health Collaborative plans to launch a community driven Cardiovascular Learning Collaborative to improve overall life expectancy by identifying and reducing deaths which account for the largest excess years of life lost across Cincinnati neighborhoods.
Health Collaborative - Mama Certified Community Care Badge
Mama Certified Community Care Badge will support the development of the Community Care Badge (connecting moms to community resources outside the hospitals based on their social determinant health risk assessment) and the Staff Badge (Establishment of Queens Village Patient Advisory Boards and Mama Certified training deployed across the units).
Heritage Community Clinic
The Heritage Community Clinic, a cornerstone of Ohio University’s community health efforts, has long been a lifeline for thousands of people who would otherwise go without essential medical care.
Jhpiego
This project will support nurses Taking Their S.E.A.T. nurse leadership and development global framework.
Mercy in Action Vineyard
This funding would support the building and equipping of a new birth center.
Michael Fisher Child Health Equity Center
The Center is seeking support to innovate and scale the medical-social model for their patients with the greatest health needs, such as youth with diabetes, sickle cell disease, asthma, and depression.
NANNNA - Adopt PHC
NANNNA’s Adopt-A-Primary-Health Care Initiative is focused on the improvement of environment of care, capacity of building of health care providers, data management and record-keeping, engagement of partners, and telehealth. This project will support 15 primary health centers in Nigeria.
Ohio University - Child Disaster Relief - Ukraine Training
Train community health workers in Ukraine. Ohio University partnered with Child Life Disaster Relief, a US-based child trauma professional association, We Are Near, a registered not for profit relief charity in Chernivtsi Ukraine.
Ohio University - Community Healthcare Worker Training
To train, compensate, and certify 120 CHWs in southeast Ohio by hiring qualified instructors to deliver two courses each semester. This training will provide 100 hours of classroom content and 130 hours of hands-on clinical content at no cost to participants.
Ople Policy Center & Training Institute
The Ople Center is focused on projects protecting migrant workers from exploitation through the strengthening of social structures, the formation of alliances and the application of ethical standards and internet technology.
Philippine Red Cross
This project will provide mobile health caravans to provide basic health services throughout the Philippines.
TheDream.US - New Venture Fund
This year, TheDream.US is planning to provide conference grants for their scholars to attend the National Student Nurses’ Association’s MidYear Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
Urban Health Project
The Urban Health Project is focused on achieving the mission to educate, inspire, and challenge medical students through their service to vulnerable populations in Greater Cincinnati to produce more socially responsible physicians who have a greater understanding of factors that impact health.
