"My love for teaching has molded me into an individual who would aspire to be a university professor. Although my academic journey has not been an easy one, I am proud to admit that my perseverance has led me to pursue many opportunities offered at UMass-Amherst.
For the past year, I have researched how nursing students develop clinical decision-making in nursing practice. During this fall semester, I will be conducting a pilot study on the lived experiences of Accelerated Bachelor of Science Nursing students on how clinical decision-making skills are developed, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to publish the findings before the end of this academic year. Alongside this, I have enrolled in a teaching in an education course that will certify me as a nurse educator.
I aspire to be a renowned nurse educator transforming nursing education and practice globally. Given this financial support, I will continue to persevere in the pursuit of my goals and hope to make it count. Your investment in my future goals will not be forgotten."

All applications are reviewed, and a final recipient is selected, by the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education. Recipients are nurses or nurse educators enrolled in an accredited graduate-level program who received their initial nursing degree outside of the United States but are now registered in the United States and pursuing advanced degrees to further their careers as full-time nurse educators.
